Chevrolet prepares Captiva replacement SUV

Chevrolet manufacturers seem to want to renew the SUV line in the Asian automotive market. Because the manufacturer from Uncle Sam’s country is rumored to have prepared a new SUV which will later be released first in Thailand. It’s just that, for now this American manufacturer is still keeping the model that is reportedly ready to launch.

However, there is one interesting news. Where, based on alerts from Bangkok Post, it is strongly suspected that the new SUV in question is the Chevrolet Blazer which had leaked in June 2018, replacing Captiva.

Chevrolet Reportedly Ready to Release Its Latest SUV Model

It is necessary to know in advance that General Motors (GM) had stopped selling several models in Thailand so that only a few models were left. Call it like Colorado, Trailblazer, and Captiva.

Meanwhile, on the one hand, according to a report quoted from Paultan, the manufacturer from the United States of this one was once rumored to have considered introducing Trax, which is a B-segment SUV, in Thailand. However, it seems that the discourse that was trending was apparently unrealized given that the segment was not too passionate.

However, only stepping on in 2017, even Trax was seen crossing the streets of Malaysia. In fact, until now the B segment SUV has never been paved again.

Not only that, in his report, Bangkok Post added, the Blazer and Trailblazer are different in Thailand. Blazers are crossover, while Trailblazer is truck-based that can be used off-road.

Please also note that this Blazer model also includes one 5-passenger car such as the Honda CR-V or Mazda CX-5.

Apart from that, for the United States market itself, the Blazer model is between Equinox and Traverse. Then two engine options will be available, the Ecotec 2.5L 4-cylinder with 193 hp and 255 Nm torque, and 3.6L V6 with 305 hp and 365 Nm of torque. To support a more powerful and aggressive performance, the two will be combined with a 9-speed automatic transmission.
